Here’s my thought on this: From a photographer-videographer standpoint, I wouldn’t recommend the mic placement. Mel tends to block her face with the mic, so she’s putting up a “block” in the viewer’s subconscious mind. This is one of the reasons the handheld, outdoor vid feels more personal than the studio. Plus, a studio always feels more produced.
