I think that what we miss the mark on with LA culture is that isn't all just Hollywood, plastic looking fun culture stuff. The hoods are part of the culture. Isa Raes Insecure comes to mind when I think about what feels like the LA I grew up with and that's it. Your friends live in apartments with gangsters, you live amongst the not rich and famous. Couches are out on the sidewalk for days/weeks/months, streets are kind of dicey to walk alone. Let's stop pretending LA is only glamorous.
