Classic cherry picking. We tend to only hold fast to our beliefs, so we like others when they agree and dislike them when they don’t. It’s a lovely little theological cycle 😂

Because the heart of the Protestant movement was the idea that you can pick and choose what particulars you want to out of the narrative to believe is true, and rejecting the rest. In other words, you start with a presupposition or belief, then select what suits or supports that belief, as opposed to accepting the overall narrative because of its historical/cultural authority.
