To borrow some terms from Kurt Vonnegut (who didn't really care about reaching a specific or any wordcount every day), some people are swoopers and some are bashers. It's perfectly okay to be a basher, to take your time with your sentences, word choice, etc. I similarly have two kids and a 1 year old so I just take what time I can get to write as long as it doesn't detract from the people around me. I meet a daily word count set by myself and that's all that matters.
