I was told that August is a bad time to visit Japan but I can’t go any other time of the year. Should I wait or go anyway?

It depends. If you’re prepared for the worst humidity…think Texas and Florida combined, then go!

Me and my wife just came back from a 3 week trip from Japan, it was HOT, japans summer is no joke, we come from Mexico and it was nothing compared with what we have in Cancun or Yucatán. But we had the time of our lives, and we did everything we planned, pro tips: 1. Use UV umbrellas 2. Portable usb fan 3. Drink lots of water and Pocari sweat 4. Do indoor activities between 12-4pm 5. Don’t try to do a lot in one day or you will get heat exhaustion or a stroke 6. You will be fine!!! Enjoy Japan!!

I mean if it’s the only time you can go you just gotta deal with the weather. It’ll be humid/hot, you may have to deal with typhoon weather which means places could close and trains could stop working. If you traveled northern Japan the temperature would be better but it doesn’t mean the typhoon won’t come there too. If you can wait for another time of the year, I would suggest fall or winter instead. It’s not as busy and the temperature is perfect (esp fall) for traveling around.

All months are a good time to come, August is just the least good one ✌️be prepared to sweat and curse the heat a lot, but it’s also a good excuse to try Japanese ice creams and stop at nice cafes for iced coffees. And all shops restaurants and hotels have AC
