I recently read the opinion that poems without rhyming are lazy.
This is like saying a car is lazy if it’s not red.
Rhyme is one of many, many different poetic devices, and using rhyme as a crutch is generally not effective. It’s one of the easiest poetic devices to employ and most serious poets actively avoid it unless it’s slant rhyme or an occasional surprise.
