In this situation, despite what I assume was your best efforts in not ruining your Mom’s birthday and withholding a lot of thoughts that must have run through your head, you took it with a lot of grace and control. A lot of people do not see the irony of their ways because they have been clouded by distrust, ignorance, and lack of willingness to understand and gain knowledge.
