Is the Bible the only “textbook” Christians use? Genuinely curious to know if they read any other literature that support their claims?

Flavius Josephus (complete works), Book of Enoch (not included in the Canon). Most Testimonial literature helps as well. Foxes Book of Martyrs is RAD.

Letters from early church fathers, as well as sources outside scripture like Josephus are common. There’s plenty of books written by Christian’s about the Bible. That’s like the main thing pastors will do, is write a book.

I think this is a valid question! Being that most Christians probably don’t even use that, but neither did the earliest Christians. The first complete Bible wasn’t written until the 300s. The King James Version wasn’t written until the 1600s. By then there were over 300 million proclaimed believers with a story that was largely spread by mouth. I think that’s pretty substantial. But some other supporting texts are the writings of Josephus and a handful of other Roman historians.

The word of God is enough ❤. Anything else just suppliments to my wonder and curiousity. The bible is God's love letter to me. I will always soak in it through and through

I read the Bible daily while I also read all other different kinds of books to support my "claim" that life is sublime and filled with purpose and not an accident.

I mean the Digital Theological Library has millions of titles that would fall into the category of “textbook” that is used by many, many seminaries and theological schools. That’s in addition to substantial physical libraries. The schools I attend(ed) are also on large university campuses and also have access to those libraries… so as far as textbooks go, we could use just about any out there.

Nope. I’ve never read any other books. Pastors go to seminaries and earn master’s degrees and doctorates and never touch any book but the Bible🙄

History books on Israel and other holy cities. Latin books and other language books pertaining to translations in the Bible. Stuff like that
