I’ve encountered many a Deadhead who talk about how Jerry was one of the greatest pedal steel players of all time. I’ve found the best way to end the conversation is to ask them to name any other pedal steel player.

2 小時內	Brian Buck inthewesternlands	Agreed. Jerry was pretty decent. But could he hang with Lloyd Green, Buddy Emmons, Sneaky Pete, Tommy Detamore etc…I don’t see that happening. I think this goes along with the idol worship deadheads put on Jerry and I would say drove him into the ground.

I don't believe Deadheads think Jerry is the greatest pedal player or the greatest banjo player, just that his playing was as unique as his lead guitar style.
