Heading to Nashville in about a week. First time being there- any suggestions on places that I need to see or go? I will have limited time as I am there for work.

The House of Cards, located in the lower level of the Johny Cash museum. Dinner and a magic show, both are great. For drinks, The Patterson House, throwback speakeasy type place. Bartenders make a one of a kind cocktail to your liking

National Museum of African American Music and The Frist art museum are right downtown and fantastic. The country music hall of fame is incredible, but it really takes an entire afternoon to see everything.

Are you going to Broadway? My husband plays on Broadway almost every day in the best band in Nashville.

Skip the Opryland Hotel. Make you restaurant reservations now (City House, Answer, Margot Cafe, etc). Walk around 12th South for shops and other restaurants. The heart of downtown is overly touristy unless you really love the Honky Tonk Disneyland vibe. If you have a car and a couple extra hours, hike around Radnor Lake.

The Diner for food. Multi-story restaurant with different foods on each level. The higher you go the quieter it gets. @NashvilleScene local magazine usually has who's playing where =music

Look up Nashville Guru online, it lists the different neighborhoods and what is in each one (restaurants, shopping, etc...). That's what I used to acclimate myself with the city when I moved here. Avoid Broadway at all costs, it smells like urine and bad decisions.

Country Music Hall of Fame and The Johnny Cash Museum. Head to 12 South and grab a coffee at Frothy Monkey, a donut from Five Daughters Bakery and then it is a short ride to Centennial Park. A beautiful walk around the lake and a chance to see the replica of The Parthenon ( not necessary to go inside). The food scene is great make sure you have reservations before you arrive. Etch is my favorite restaurant. An evening at The Listening Room is always great. You will hear songwriters sing originals
