We see the damage that is done by gatekeeper statements, but what has been hitting me lately is the smallness of the theological territories that some choose to inhabit. When I think of a faith that includes two millennia of vastly different cultures, languages, ethnicities, and social locations, I realize how little I know about my many sisters and brothers. Why should we fear Christian diversity?
