Right wing folk with money buy the fact checkers after they establish a reputation, so that folks who are used to assuming that, say, Politifact is honest and factual will buy the slanted BS they put out now. Always the same song: follow the money. If "they" (any they) used to be a reputable organization and now aren't, first thing to check: has their ownership changed hands?
