The amount of people who don’t understand if you convert the work week to a work month your employer is avoiding paying overtime for hourly employees is insane! Example:
Week 1- 50 hours (2 extra hours per shift)
Week 2- 60 hours (4 extra hours per shift)
Week 3- 40 hours (no extra time)
Week 4- 10 hours (no extra time)
Still 160 hours total, however, w/o a 40 hour work week you would not receive overtime pay b/c the pay period is based off the month not the week.
