I think it's because technology has become so perfect that images lose something they once had. There is a reason why we have so many digital images backed up to the cloud somewhere and hardly see the light of day.... And yet one grainy film image taken with a skillful hand has the power to stop us in our tracks. I love using creative lens filters to achieve a certain look and feel in my work. Additionally, some of my favorite photos were taken with a 35mm plastic film camera.
