I’ve lived in multiple countries before but Japan is the only country where the popular opinion regarding suicide is to think about the people who witnessed the suicide, not even lamenting who committed suicide. I mean it’s alarming that you have a country with a popular discourse as such, committing suicide was never a choice for these people. If we have to point fingers we should always to the systems entrenched that incubates those conditions, not to hide the problem.
