Hoping this reached other martial artists- Do y’all think BJJ could benefit from a victory by pin like judo? I’ve been competing in judo more lately, and their rule is 20 seconds for a pin. Feels long enough to keep working in bjj and hit the slower escapes. Thoughts? Why or why not? bjj

30 分鐘內	Tom McParland t.mcparland	What separates BJJ from Judo and wrestling is the step beyond taking someone down and holding them there. I think the focus should remain prioritizing subs over pins. If someone is really good at takedowns and pins they are likely to win by points anyway.
42 分鐘內	Frances ✨ francesleesmith	Not really. Part of Jiu Jitsu is waiting for the right timing. Also, in Jiu Jitsu that’s called stalling and we get penalized for it. So no on the pin for me.
