Question gentlemen and women….if I’m giving more then the amount non court order to my BM and she keeps on asking me for extra, granted I do but for her to not support and buy our daughter more diapers, etc… I feel like I’m in the wrong but also feel like I I give her more then normal for my daughter so what is she doing with the money I give her? Side note I give her anywhere between $400 to $1000 a month non court order so what is everyone’s thoughts?

6 小時內	S sugarsmackz	I would not give cash but write checks or Zelle and specify it’s for child support. I would ask how much child care cost, medical insurance, diapers, wipes, food. I would give a consistent amount towards that monthly. Any extra put in a college fund for your child.

If you pay more, go put yourself on child support and if she asks for extra for diapers or clothes. Go buy whatever is needed if you can, and give that instead of extra $

Go to bjs get two boxes of pampers and two boxes of baby wipes that should last for a while.if she buying the pampers from the store it’s definitely not going to last

According to Google middle-income families should expect to spend $16,000+ during a baby’s first year. Of course both parents have a responsibility, but context matters and contributions can be other than money (i.e. having a child often involves reduced ability to earn/childcare is extremely $$$). $400-$1,000/month is painful but not out of line.

I’m doing all on my own, with way less money and my baby and I are healthy and happy. Just say no and if she’s dissatisfied, she can pay a lawyer with her own money. Difference between being nice and kind.
