When people think of USC, they think Hollywood, football, and a top academic school. That is not South Carolina lol

I've always called Southern Cal USC and South Carolina USCjr.

Ok, let me just state that university of South Carolina is 222 years old and university of Southern California is 143 years old 🤷‍♂️

Just remember we were a university before California was even a state.

USC student here. When we were established back in 1801 we were USC but they decided to change to South Carolina University (SCU) for a little bit which is when Southern Cal was established and we eventually changed back but added the of so it was UofSC and last year we officially decided to go back to USC. That’s why we are insistent on the name change. We had it before the state of California existed. We now also pop up on google under USC. Also there can be multiples. There are three OSU’s.

No one calls usc Southern California and most people doesn’t know it even stands for that with that being said you’ve never heard someone call South Carolina usc other then there fan base

No one outside of South Carolina hears USC and thinks anything other than the Trojans. And I grew up in the Midwest so I’m pretty unbiased here.
