This is the first question of the RAADS-R test for autism. I can't answer it, because how the heck would I know? That's not for me to judge, is it? How would I know how others perceive me? So maybe that means I'm autistic as heck.

So almost everyone responding to this post has either been diagnosed autistic or suspects they might be. So what is the response of people who absolutely beyond doubt know that they are not autistic? What's the so called "normal" response to how this test is structured and how do you know this is the "normal" response?

They should also score us on how difficult we find it to answer the questions. Ugh I hated them because the option I wanted was never there 😭

Arguing with the questions is definitely a diagnostic indicator 😂

I tried to fill this and honestly struggled. how can I judge myself, do I get others to help, what if my idea of say sympathetic is different from the assessor, how on earth do I know from younger than 16. I'm 40 I'm a different person to when I was 25,to when I was 16. How am I meant to remember what person I was when I was a child and a teen. And in what scenario? no one is always sympathetic etc etc. I gave up. I decided not to even approach my GP for a referral if that's the process.

I really hate the RAADS for that, sympathy/empathy is an individual trait!! It has bugger all to do with autism. And your point is completely valid, how are you supposed to know?? Unless you’re deliberately trying to be sympathetic or unsympathetic.
