Teacherthreads I teach kindergarten and we let the families know that we DON'T assign homework. I will help parents if a student is at risk of falling behind, but we don't do homework. Tell me why this woman asked me the first day of school for homework anyway. And came to me today again saying her grandson did all his practice, I need hard work for him. What would you do?

My dyslexic 2nd grader has to do “homework/home learning” if she wants a chance at staying afloat in her class. Schools have zero idea on how to teach dyslexic/uniquely wired brains but even with IEP/504s expect too much so I’d point them to useful resources as there are plenty of options for most curriculums easily available.
