My son about to go into Y9. But had to fight for diagnosis and EHCP to be sorted in Y6 before he went to secondary. I knew he wouldn't cope otherwise. Thankfully the school also has a new head who is also SENCO trained and understands the implications mainstream can have on very overwhelmed SEN children and a good trainee SENCO too.
