Is anyone else bothered that the shortened version of the word vacation is commonly spelled ‘vacay’? I actually like the diminutive - it’s fun! - and I KNOW the spelling is technically correct. But it’s pronounced vay-cay, not vuh-kay. It should be spelled vaycay! The fact that it isn’t makes my brain go hhhhnnnnnn 🧠 ADHD Threads
