My Grandpa grew up in Detroit in the 1920s & 1930s. One of his earliest childhood memories: Attending the funeral of 2 union organizers. Until the end of his life, he remembered the sight of the men lying in their coffins, and the still-visible bullet holes in their heads. Because that's how Capital reacted when Labor tried to assert itself.
