Adam and Eve weren't concious that they were naked. After their sin, they realized

Before sin, man and woman would not look at each other lustfully. They were without sin. Once man's eyes were "opened" to understanding right and wrong, they would then choose to make right or wrong decisions, just as we do to this day. Because of the fall, men and women can now choose to disobey God's law and look at each other in sin. By practicing modesty, you show respect for God, His law, and yourself.
