The righteous judges in the book of Helaman were said to "fill the judgment-seat with justice and equity". Given that Equity is the "E" in DE&I that is such a big focus for companies these days, it made me wonder if the meaning of that word has changed over time. In the 1828 dictionary it referenced Isaiah 11:3-4 where it talks about how the Lord will judge everyone with a true understanding of their heart, and not based on what one can see or hear about someone. I like that meaning of Equity.
