I was once involved with a midlist writer who hid our relationship (and even friendship) because I was not successful enough for him to be seen with in public. He would call me when it suited his schedule, use me the entire time, then took moments when we were together to include in his published work without any mention of me, and acted like these epiphanies came to him on his own. I was a muse in the worst way possible. Anyway, he’s blocked for the rest of eternity.
