I am baffled by these “I moved to X, had a (mundane) experience that *never happened* in Y, X is so great”. Y’all I moved 17 times in 30 years and never once did it occur to me that because “someone unknown said hi” it was a judgement on any other place I lived. And then when a zillion people from Y say “that happened to me all the time” they get defensive “well good for you.” Like random shit happens wherever you are. If no one ever randomly waved to you before you probably didn’t notice.
