No wonder that 'Things Fall Apart' by Chinua Achebe is considered a literary classic, specially from the perspective of African life before Colonialism pretty much destroyed it.
This description of night is so apt for the non modern societies of old. So many of these ideas draw beautiful parallels with much of earlier Indian society.
I personally find the moonlit nights of my maternal and paternal villages the best. Both places have an aura that is difficult to describe.
