Hamas is now essentially admitting it executed the 6 Israeli hostages to prevent them from being rescued. But it's also lying when it says this is a new policy. After Israeli forces recovered 4 hostages in June, Hamas opened fire on the retreating rescue convoy, preferring to try and kill the hostages (and any Palestinians in the ensuing crossfire) than let them escape. They've never cared about the lives of the hostages or people of Gaza. Those are all just chits to cash in for their own power.

一小時內	Ed Brill edbrill	Since Noa was rescued, the number of times I have had to point out that nobody would have died that day on either side if Hamas said, shoot, they rescued one, and let her go. All casualties that day were a result of fighting after she was rescued. Every death is Hamas responsibility.

They should never have pretended otherwise that rescue operations and even just fighting anywhere near the hostages would not risk the hostages. I don't have answers but as always I'm pissed at Netanyahu and can't understand why he is there almost 1 year after his massive failure on 10/7.
