I appreciate the comments about world leaders. Just for clarity, I am speaking anecdotally, not in absolute terms. “Every authoritarian person I’ve ever known” means people I’ve encountered personally. In my world this means fundamentalist “pastors” or “leaders” in charismatic “churches” who talked a lot about saving the world, yet treated their congregations like garbage the moment someone asked for help.

I always think dog lovers love managing people, which is almost the same thing.
