I've been both positive and critical of RoP. But when I've been called names and insulted it wasn't from the Tolkien purists, it was from the die-hard fans of the show. Enjoy the show, no one's trying to convince you to not watch it. The Tolkien purists just wanted a version that was more true to the source material. Their complaints are mostly valid. Mostly.
