Sony shooter here, when I was on the FW-50 batteries, on/off. Since switching to updated cameras with FZ-100, always ON

Gfx is a battery HOG. Unless I'm on tether I'm switching on/off

My cameras auto-turn off if I go several minutes without doing anything. Is this not standard?

I have an R8 which - if you left Wi-Fi on - drains the small battery. I turn airplane mode on now, but I still have the habit of shutting it off. Also Canon, why don't you give me a battery percentage? I don't want 3 battery bars, I want numbers 😡

Mine stays switched ON, but goes to sleep after five minutes. It takes a second before waking up after tapping the shutter but still faster than physically switching it off/on IMO
