The sounds of thunder & lightning in the Philippines (SEA in general) is so different from America. It's more of a deep firecracker rumbling, scarier, longer, more menacing. These monsoons are no joke over here, the videos I'm seeing are crazy (picture is in Malate today, from Reddit)
