I think awe would be a better word to describe it because God is both awesome and terrifying. It means having the proper attitude of respect for his creation so you don’t get yourself in a pickle by willfully messing it up.

Understanding that God is worthy of our love and adoration which should in turn make us wants to serve, love, and enjoy Him forever. ^^this should come from the knowledge that God is the most powerful being in the universe and could destroy us if He desired to, but knowing that God loves us more than we could ever imagine.

Fear can mean a profound reverence for the Creator which motivates us with a strong desire to avoid disappointing or displeasing him. This moves us to try to always do what he considers right and virtuous.

Hypothetically, if you have a good and decent father. He will praise you when you are good, he will scold you, maybe even spank you if you are not good. But he loves you. And you love him. Fear is not being scared of him, it is respect and love.
