I genuinely, genuinely love the smells of autumn, the feel of a sweater on my arms and wool socks on my feet, the slowing of the movements of nature. To me, autumn is the preparation for contemplation. It’s like earth is getting ready to figure out its next move and it feels magical to me. Winter for me is the time to bake things, strudel, cinnamon rolls, etc. Hearty chili and taking refuge in a warm kitchen. The cold is a challenge I’m here for.
