Depends on when your kid is ready. You can try early, and if they have the personality/ character for it it might work. I started at 2 with my oldest and he wasn’t fully potty trained until 5- it was an uphill battle and I started too early. My youngest was potty trained at 2, and it took a week- he was even out of bedtime diapers in that week. Everyone’s different.
