Here’s the personal difference between depression/anxiety and burnout for me: Depression: I don’t really care, I’m really sad, so I’ll just do the “most important things” (ie what everyone else tells me is most important”) and leave everything else. Anxiety: I’m running out of time. I have a feeling of doom. I’m not good enough. Burnout: No. Just no. No I won’t work. No I won’t mask. No I won’t hang out with people I don’t want to IDGAF about the consequence. What are you going to do about?
