Let’s settle this, what’s the best focal length for shooting portraits? For me it’s 50mm

Depends on the person. I love 85mm. But I also have a new lens coming in that's 50mm.

85mm is my personal favorite. 135 can also produce some incredible images though.

85mm is my favorite. No distortion, beautiful subject and background separation. Great for environmental portraits, too. I even started taking it out on the street to make candid photos of strangers. Love it.

It depends on what you're going for in a portrait, is it a headshot, Head and shoulders, or across the table. I shoot portraits with all kinds of focal lengths, 45, 50,55, 85,105 and 135

85mm. No - not really, but it is a reasonable compromise if you can only rake one prime lense. It depends what you want to achieve, and the space you have to work in. It also depends on your camera body. If you shoot full-frame or cropped sensor, your focal length choice will also be different. Different focal lengths can achieve different looks.

Depends. 85 is good for tight portraits and 35mm for a wider shot including a bit of the body. I think the 50 is a good in-between, offering versatility without the bokeh of the 85mm or the width of the 35.
