Local craft markets are my favourite - but I still use Etsy frequently - and generally have good luck finding what’s actually handmade.

You can always find the artists here on social media and go to their web stores🤍

I’m just starting out and haven’t had much luck with Etsy I think because I can’t imagine the amount of mass produced people have to get through to see my stuff. I know I get bogged down when looking for stuff myself!😫

i find the best creators on instagram. searching for hashtags like “ceramicartist” or “botanicalart”, watching those peoples’ stories to see if they share fellow artists- even checking their following! there’s a whole network of amazing people to discover. unfortunately etsy made it too hard to find anyone.

I think a lot of small businesses have moved to their own websites (companies like Shopify have made this easier) and using social media like instagram to connect and advertise. So it does mean some searching for businesses or crafters online on the users part. I also think in person markets are coming back big time! Keep your eyes out for those in your area!

Check out goimagine.com!!!! The sellers on there HAVE to be handmade and pass inspections to be included on the marketplace! On top of that, the entire company is a non-profit for children’s charities! I have been on the platform as a seller for a month so far, and this company ACTUALLY cares about supporting artists and art🥹
