I don't know know how to turn reading into self employment, but I know someone I follow is a PA for some authors, proofreader and freelance editor. She was looking for different types of readers for her clients. Something like what she does or content creation seems the best bet, unless you get into a bookstore job. Otherwise, just review on the side, try Netgalley until you figure something out.
