I grew up on Disney, it’s the one place that no matter what I can be truly happy! For me it’s my happy place!!! It’s allowed me to heal my inner child and be me with out any judgement! I hope that helps!!! Honestly, it’s just if you know you know and if you don’t you need to experience it!!!

I genuinely enjoy the parks. The rides are fun for me. The food is fun. Being around other people who are having fun is also fun. It’s also nostalgic. My parents started taking me when I was 3 so I have a ton of memories with family and friends there. But it also makes sense to me why other people don’t like the parks.

This is on my wall in my home office. It’s a quote that’s on a plaque in all the Disney parks. It’s why I go to the movies, or watch a show, or read a book, or visit a museum, or travel to a different country, or enjoy fine dining. It’s the experience of doing something that’s not your normal day-to-day. Only in this case, that experience includes witches and princesses, rides and shows, and lots and lots of good food and alcohol. 😃

I am 68 years young. I had Snow White wallpaper on my wall when I was very very young. I had a Mickey Mouse watch . I went to Disney for the first time when I was 28 with my daughter and have continued to vacation there every year since. All of girls as big fans as well as my 6 grandchildren. We are a Disney family for sure. My husband and I go on our own also. The atmosphere the music just brings me joy.

It’s the joy and positivity of Disney I assume. And it’s fun to belong to a group.

Well. It can be fun with and without my kids. Without my kids I can ride and eat what I want 🤷🏻‍♀️ With my kids, my son doesn’t like some rides so one of us (usually his dad) has to find something else for them to do.

I'm not a fanatic but I absolutely love going to Disneyland. No place on earth that I can go and immediately get that feeling that I got going there as a child. Excitement, joy, taking in all that atmosphere and environment designed to do just that. Maybe not going there as a child one wouldn't have that connection to those memories so nostalgia probably plays a huge role in it.

I think a lot of us love theme parks in general. Also life is kind of sad and Disney is a happy place where you don’t have to worry about things for a day. Try it sometime and maybe you’ll understand.

It’s happy. It’s literally joy inside a park. There’s clear villains and clear good guys, and life just seems easier. It’s an escape from reality. And churros

"Fanatics" seems a pretty judgmental word to use if you're gonna pull the "not shaming anyone" card, no? You also pretty much answer your own question: A lot of people who go to the parks as adults didn't have the money to go or didn't get to choose where they went on vacation when they were little. I still remember eating at the Blue Bayou restaurant as a kid — we got one day in the park and that was a splurge — because my dad, who grew up in California, hadn't gotten to eat there as a kid.
