this latest trope is so gross because it not so tacitly implies that failures are because of everyone else. Not for nothing but in my experience the more "founder mode" there is the worse outcomes there are for the company.

Paul Graham called the people hired to do work at companies “professional fakers” when founders are the most professional fakers of all. They sell pipe dreams on the back of a napkin to VCs followed by selling actual humans to become employees to make/sell vaporware for a paltry salary and options that most likely will be worth a whole lotta nothing

One of my clients is about as non traditional as it gets - over 60 - no VC - yet able to get a Stanford Guided Study to validate their AI enabled health solution. Now that the company is showing traction, VC is knocking. Nope. They laughed in our faces. Now we’re doing the laughing.
