Yesterday I was in a frustrating bind with a car wash stalled out. Had my son in the car and no way to call the operator. Boomer white guy comes out yells at me for being rude and holding up the line. Black Woman, maybe millennial, gets out of her car from around the line and offers to go get someone to fix it. Is this anecdote a metaphor for something bigger? I don’t know, but there’s nothing surprising about who did what here.
