My ex husband just wished me a happy belated birthday. I turned 40 last week. I left him because he was abusive and it was a toxic environment. We do not speak. We are not cordial. We are not friends. He has been blocked on every social media app of mine for over 2 years. I have not seen him almost 4 years. He has not wished me happy birthday in over two years. 1/3

Even if “we” have forgotten, it’s why sometimes you can catch a random scent and have a whole moment of nostalgia about something you haven’t thought about in years or the way you get a weird feeling every time you see that weird next door neighbor across the street. It could be a million idiotic reasons he sent the emails but just know he doesn’t deserve a second of your energy. Block his ass again

He is doing it not to be nice but to control you again IF you decide to contact him being nice and saying thank you. DONT DO IT!!! Just block and delete the emails and move on with your life. He is toxic and let that garbage be. As far as triggering, it can be cuz he was horrible but YOU can control how you respond to it. Best of luck to you 🧡

I had the ugliest most awful email from an ex-s-I-l a few years ago, and deleted it - and blocked her from anything and everything I could. It astounded me and threw me for a bit of a loop there was so much hatred and ugly there as I didn’t have much to do with her over the years. I shudder to think the abuse my brother took from her.
