OnePlaceWednesday James Burt's Woburn Sands teapot. Given to him as a 21st Birthday present. In 1899 his wife was murdered by a lodger who then slit his own throat. The murderer left a letter hinting they had had an affair, but this was doubted.
James was left with 7 children to look after, inc. twins aged 2. At least one was sent out to Canada. James died in July 1908.
In WW1, three of his sons were killed (including both the twins), in February, April & November 1917.
