Should have not cheapened out and got apple care but good luck with that when you get your windows computer and there are no stores you can take it to instead you have to mail it out and be without a computer for 5-10 days

You’re going to be changing the whole assembly in either case. Even regular windows laptops have had their screen assembly glued just like Apple for several years now. If you do pop the bezel off, you’re likely to crack it. If the panel isn’t cracked and you’re trying to gain access to the hinges, you run a real risk of cracking the panel as well. I remember the 2016 Lenovo yoga 700 series had a panel that was over $300 direct from China. I replaced 2 that spontaneously cracked w/normal use.

Newsflash. All consumer grade laptops are made on the cheap due to fusing chips to the board. It’s not going to be much different in ARM windows land.
