Hey Minnesotans, we have to get better at making new friends through all stages of our lives and especially at welcoming in out-of-state folks. It’s a theme I hear from people new to our lovely state, that everyone is very nice to them on a surface level but no one offers a deeper invitation to friendship.

7 小時內	Ladybug11 ladybug11846	I grew up near Minneapolis and moved to California 27 years ago - then lived in Portland, Florida, Los Angeles and now moved back Minneapolis this past year. - It’s haunting to me how “Minnesota isn’t home” to me anymore… (it’s very sad to feel this way!) - Guess it’s true you CAN’T go home again 😢

Between having ADHD and being in a verbally/socially abusive relationship for far too long, I simply don't make/keep close friends. I do have a friend who, every time we meet for coffee/brunch/whatever, "makes" me put our next meeting time on our calendars, and I love her for it.

7 小時內	sarimn00	I live in west MN, and I agree. I've been trying to make new connections as my friends are spread out throughout the state, and past general niceties, it is rough to even get a conversation going. So if anyone is looking for friends, let me know!
