Do you buy your patterns digitally or hard copy? I try to make mine (digital patterns) as big as possible and break them up into logical sections. But that doesn’t please everyone either especially when there are 20 pages of charts, one page per 60 stitches and each row is 120 stitches.

Have you tried enlarging the pattern? A lot of places like FedEx and UPS will do that as a service. I have friends who do that all the time.

This might be a little extreme, but I manually enter them into stitch fiddle. Then I can enlarge as much as I want. It’s a bit laborious but by the time I’m done typing it in, I really understand the pattern, haha. Lace & cable charts too.

AGREED. I am wanting to make a Japanese lace. I can't read the fricking charts OR the stitch key. It's too small. So pissed off.

Certainly a chart can be blown up and expanded. I’ve done it. I’ve also wasted a ton of paper not getting it right every time. I also don’t want to do this. There are designers whose charts are just so awesome to work with. I just want more designers to strive for awesome.

I get it. My eyes get tired very quickly and design with this in mind, keeping my charts two colour only, rhythmic, clear and large. 🤗
