Most new vehicle (ICE) owners trade in close to the 100,000 km and/or 5 years. Is this the same for EV owners? If the average life span of an EV battery is 8-12 years, depending on the conditions it's driven in, what does this mean for used EVs? if you purchase a used EV, are you realistically only getting 3 years before you have to replace the battery, which is almost the same cost as a new car?

At the end of the day, it will lose capacity over time. I had 230,000 km on my first EV and it lost about 6-8% capacity. Buying used EVs will be a fun market to jump into.

You mentioned winnipeg. Which is a perfect example. What will a 8 year old EV driven on winnipeg streets and parked on winnipeg streets all winter function like. I would guess not well. Used EVs will probably become a complete gamble. So they will hold no value. Which mean when buying a new one they will lose almost all value as soon as you buy it.
