Today, I told my students which corner of my classroom was the safest to hide in. I instructed them that the closest people to the blinds needed to close them. Whoever was closest to the door (always locked but propped) needed to shut it. I showed them where my 4-inch-thick textbooks are to use as both shields and weapons. I demonstrated how to open the emergency bucket with tourniquets and hemostatic agents.
